What is this study about?
As part of the GeoResist project, we conduct individual in-depth interviews with people who have participated in protests or other forms of resistance – both in physical and digital spaces. We aim to better understand:
- why specific places (e.g. streets, squares, online spaces) matter for resistance;
- how people choose and use space in protest activities;
- how space shapes these practices;
- how online and offline experiences are connected.
Your perspective matters — whether you were a participant or an organiser.
What does participation involve?
- a one-on-one in-depth interview;
- lasting approximately 1–2 hours;
- conducted online or in person;
- focused on your experiences related to protest and space.
The interview is open and conversational — there are no right or wrong answers.
We may ask about:
- your experience with protests;
- how locations are chosen;
- the role of space (physical and digital);
- the use of the internet and social media;
Is participation safe?
Yes, we take participant safety very seriously:
- participation is fully voluntary;
- you can withdraw at any time without giving a reason;
- your responses will be anonymous;
- we do not collect data that allows direct identification;
- recordings are securely stored and used only for research purposes;
- your statements may be quoted in publications, but always anonymously.
Are there any risks?
The topic of protest and resistance may involve emotionally difficult experiences. Therefore:
- you can stop the interview at any time;
- you can skip any question;
- we provide information about support resources if needed;
- we also apply strict data protection measures.
Will I receive compensation?
